Hello and thank you for joining us! Could you tell us a little about yourself?
Oh, hello I'm Monika Kodrzycka and I live in Poland... I've never attended to any Art School, instead of this I already have a certify of hotelier and now I study Economics
Cool. How long have you been drawing horses for?
My first more serious attempt was about two years ago. But when I was young me and my cousin loved to draw scenes from 'Spirit' (especially this one when he jumped over that big cliff )
Wow, really? Can you tell us why you enjoy drawing them so much?
Their grace and power. Horses can be so wild, it has always fascinated me.
Do you have a particular way of drawing horses?
Usually I sketch a base shape of whole body, not separate parts, then I try to fix the proportions if they are wrong.
Interesting. Can you share with us what your very favourite piece in your gallery is?
From my equine arts I really like how this one turned out. So yummy!
Looks amazing! Do you have an OC (original character)? Can you tell us a little about him/her?
I have a few, but I'd like to introduce to you my youngest one. Half Solven red mare with daemon blood in her veins - Karthala. As you maybe noticed recently I have a thing about red!
She’s awesome! Is there any particular part of equine anatomy that you find difficult to draw?
Hindlegs...
Good to know we all have trouble, then! So what would be your favourite part of drawing?
I love to draw hair of my horses. Lots of hair flowing in the wind...! *3*
That’s interesting. Is there any particular medium you would like to try?
Surely I should work more on my traditional skills... once I also tried a sculpture, it was very absorbing and I would like to try myself in it again.
You’ve been an inspiration to a number of budding equine artists out there – can you share some tips to those just starting out?
Draw a lot from photos, try to notice and remember the most recognizable parts of horse body. With each drawing you'll be able to notice more and your horses would look more like a horse should look, not like a donkey or deer (I'm telling it from my own experience, check my scraps if you're interested in details )
Thank you for your time. Any last pieces of advice you can give to your fellow equine artists?
When you do not like the result just try again. And again. And in the end I'd like to excuse you for all the mistakes I probably did in my answers

Hacked Account
My account was hacked. I don't know if anyone noticed but my profile was deactivated (unknown to me) and all of my account was wiped. I thankfully managed to restore my artwork and journals thanks to a very helpful dA staff member but all of my gallery stats (over 3 million artwork views, 150,000+ faves and 10,000+ watchers) are gone. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. I was very proud of the stats I had built up over the years and whilst I know it's not *the* most important aspect of having a dA account, somehow it's not the same knowing that's all been wiped. I still have all of your comments and my journals thankfully, so at least I c
Commissions, perhaps?
Hello to any of my faithful watchers still here and reading this journal! Hope you are all doing fantastic and that life is treating you well. 😊 Looks like another year has flown by and here I am again writing another journal with life updates! I'm doing good - still trying to find my dream job, but hoping things will change as I'm about to do a makeup course in 2 weeks time which I'm hoping will open some more doors for me! I've always loved doing makeup and it means I can be creative and be passionate about what I'm doing too which is something I've yet to find in my career. Love life is great, I'm still with my other half and curre
Two years in the life of Bori...
Seems like I'll always be associated with that username :giggle:
So first off, thank you all for the lovely welcome back! (I've already fallen behind with responding to comments. :XD:) It actually feels pretty nice to be here again, though I will say straight up that I'm back part-time and can't dedicate as much time to being here as I used to. But since many of you have asked, I'll give you a little life update... there's a cookie at the end for anyone who gets that far! :cookie:
Currently I am living on my own in a lovely little house by the sea in my hometown. I moved out of my parents' a couple of years ago and this is actually my third
What's this? A journal update?!
Has it REALLY been over two years since I last updated my page? :wow: I'm seriously shocked at how quickly time flies by. How is everyone? Who's still here? So much has happened since last time I upaded that I don't even know where to begin! Comment below and I'll see what kind of response I get and I'll write a new journal if there is enough interest.
And if nobody reads this, then oh well... :bounce:
