My nails are weak and chip/break easily. I used to bite them as a kid. I had acrylic tips for a while and have been taking a break from them but may go back to them. I like polish colors too much to have short nails.
I try to grow mine out but when they get just past my finger tips, they either break, chip, peel or I ram them into something accidentally and they get damaged in some way. I envy people who can grow thick nails with no problems.
Between medium and long because I don't play any instruments and I have to have razor sharp fingernail clippers or toe nail clippers. If I don't I have to soak them in water to clip them. Playing with boys as a kid does a number on your nails and they're really hard because of it. But they also chip to different lengths. Though I try to keep my toenails short because it hurts when I jam it. I don't bite my nails it hurts my teeth.
mine are as thin as paper and never really get long at all >.<, my moms though are so thick they don't bend at all, I'm talking like a little thinner then cardboard O.O and they're long to, I wish I had her nails >.< she can open anything with those.
Short. They have been longer, and they will get longer, but mine are weak and tend to chip and fray. That and I bite them. I'm not generally one to take them to the quick, but they tend to catch on things and tear that deep if I let them get too long.
Short/medium because they need to be for violin (and at one point piano but I quit) and it's been that way for four years so it's habit now. Long nails aren't comfortable because my nails are very small anyway and some you can see the whiter edge but it's still not past my fingertips so if they grow any further past my fingertips then they start chipping and breaking. I dunno, I cut my nails a lot..
I used to keep them quite long, but as soon as I started my ceramic sculpture class, long fingernails were a big fat NOPE. When wet clay gets down to the quick and then dries, it's SO annoying and kinda painful So I keep 'em short now.
Short. They irritate me if they go beyond my fingertips, they are also more likely to scratch me (I mean I am more likely to scratch myself accidentally) if they're longer than that. Also easier to get dirt under, which I hate. but yeah, I just don't get a good feeling, my hands feel wrong if I don't cut my fingernails after a couple of weeks or whatever My toenails probably don't grow as fast, but I suppose they're also short (I know you weren't asking about toes!!)
Bitten so short they bleed. ;__; It's so intense I've been diagnosed as having an impulse control disorder. BUT. I'm gonna be getting treated for it after Christmas! :'D So maybe, for the first time in my life, I'll be able to start wearing nail polish!
Mine are clipped right down to the quick and usually painted a bright colour. I hate my nails long and it's just not practical having them that length when I'm messing about with horses and doing other outdoorsy things.
Short right now. Once they get to a medium length, they start getting brittle and break. I just cut them down again and start over. If olive oil wasn't so expensive, I'd be using it to keep my nails strong.
Unusually long, I usually cut them shorter before they get to this point, but a friend of mine gave me gel nails as a birthday present um two months ago and I haven't had the heart to cut them shorter yet ;w; Though they're starting look a bit awkward, what with almost half of the nails root showing already :'D They can grow pretty long normally, I've never picked the habit of biting them and I'm lazy in cutting them regularly, I usually only cut them when I get the sudden urge to play a guitar or when one of the nails snaps :' D
